Cost for Winnik high; 7 depth players for cheap

The asking price for pending UFA veteran Daniel Winnik is a 2nd & 3rd round pick or a 2nd or 3rd with a decent prospect. That price alone should scare away any playoff team that doesn't consider themselves a contender. It's quite a large package for teams like Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver, San Jose, even Boston who are more than one player away from doing damage.
Other than Colorado's Maxim Talbot, Winnik is rare on this years market. A solid third line veteran who is an elite penalty killer and also can provide size and some toughness for a team lacking any of the above.
Packaged deal?
Would the Leafs consider another packaged deal to move up to another first rounder pick? Whether it be Roman Polak & Winnik or Olli Jokinen with Winnik. If such a deal was an option those teams mentioned before would be out for sure; they would not want to part with a possible 12-14 overall pick for rentals. One would assume the Blues, Penguins, Lightning, Ducks might consider that form of a trade.
Last minute stop and shop?
Just like there are some buyers; we also have our fair share of sellers as well. I have come up of a list of seven players who could be had for almost nothing but maybe a 7th rounder when it's all said and done.
Phoenix's David Moss will likely go for cheap if not moved before the last hour of the deadline; he's had a tough season is Arizona but can still help the penalty kill if anything. Buffalo has two warm bodies up for grabs. Defenseman Andre Benoit has had a bad season compared to his 13-14 season in Colorado. Forward Matt Ellis is simply an AHL call up who can play 5-7 minutes on a 4th line basis only. Carolina's Brett Bellemore can play forward & defense and provided toughness as well.
The next 3 players could be had & the team trading that player would consider retaining 25-50% of the salary. Toronto's Stephane Robidas has two years remaining at 3 million; for a 38 year old that is a tough pill to swallow for some teams. Then we get to Ottawa's Colin Greening & Erik Condra; both players have been available for trade all year long so the likely hood of them going anywhere is low at best.
